Parkdale is a small riverside community in northwest Calgary, running from the Bow River north to 16 Avenue NW between 28 Street NW and Shaganappi Trail. The land was annexed in 1910, and the community includes some Craftsman-style homes from 1911 to 1913 alongside its post-war housing.
The Bow River pathway is Parkdale's defining feature, and residents are steps from Parkdale Plaza, the community garden and the farmers market. The Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Children's Hospital and the University of Calgary are all close by, making Parkdale popular with medical and university professionals.
